Togo/2023: the Autonomous Port of Lomé achieved a turnover of 40.331 billion CFA francs


The Autonomous Port of Lomé increased in turnover from 2022 to 2023. An increase of one billion is noted. The information was given on February 16 during a press conference hosted by the company's management. 

The autonomous port of Lomé (PAL) achieved a turnover of 40.331 billion CFA francs in 2023 with a difference of one billion compared to the previous year. A performance observed over the last five years. The turnover was 30,234,419,953 FCFA in 2019. Likewise, overall traffic from 2019 to 2023 increased by more than 32%. However, transshipment is down slightly by -5.89%. 

The structure today has 1,306 permanent agents, and around 5,000 professional, occasional and daily dockers. 

Located at 06°08 N and 01°17 E, the Port of Lomé is the only deep water port (approximately 17m) on the West African coast which can accommodate deep draft vessels, and through which one can reach several capitals in a single day. It thus offers the advantage of transporting goods at very competitive times and costs.
